Where do concepts come from? For some reason, that question had been lingering on myind for quite a while. I want to have a story in my artworks; a story that only I could tell. My main problem as an artist is that I have difficulty putting an idea into an actual artwork. The execution is the hardest part for me. Throught starting this piece, I had realized that the reason why I found transferring my idea into an artwork quite difficult was because I don't visualize enough.
I've been fangirling of the series again and I had been excited on the upcoming movie so I ended up with this fanart~
I once saw a picture of Changmin in this angle and immediately I went ahead and sketched him. I added some flowers going around him and I had this vision of the color red as this photo's background. The background ended up with a mixture of yellow on the sides. I love how this stage looked because of the red's contrast against the white part. I stopped on this part for a long while because I liked how the main flower looks. I felt contented with it and with the leaves but looking at the whole picture, it still appeared incomplete. At this point, half of me felt that it was complete and yet the other half felt that it's still lacking something. I really wanted to keep his shirt unpainted. I really like the texture on this upper left side. How the watercolor dries is really interesting *___*
